History
The K. F. Sullivan Company was incorporated in 1937. Ken Sullivan
started in business by remodeling downtown storefronts surrounding
Madison’s square, the heart of retail activity in the
city at that time. Originally the company’s offices
were on Regent Street; we’ve been in our present location
since 1957.
In 1968 Bob Riley joined the company.
Before that time the Sullivan Company was solely a construction
operation. However, since then it has been noted for being one
of the most progressive design-build teams in the area. In 1970
Bob and several other partners purchased the firm. Bob has been
president since 1974. Tom Knoop, architect and Corporate Secretary
came on board in 1973. The current Vice President of Construction,
John Riley, has been with the company since 1989.
In the nearly 70 years since the
Sullivan Company was founded we have provided design and construction
services for more than a thousand buildings--apartment complexes,
schools, automotive dealerships, churches, parking ramps,
medical clinics and a wide variety of retail and industrial
structures. Our history is only partially recorded in completed
projects. Thoroughness and dedication have won the confidence
of many satisfied clients, and we will continue to serve our
customers in the tradition of our past. We look forward to
the future--the challenges as well as the new ideas, methodology
and technology that tomorrow will bring.
